By the summer of 2016, Genevieve was a child in such need of help that her seizures kept her in the hospital and on the floor most of the time, in desperation her mother reached out to someone she was referred to on social media - a 'Compassion Provider' to bring her oils. Destiny slowly played its role in this story that will capture your heart.
Cannabis Compassion providers once roamed the nation giving away Cannabis and its oils to people in need - eventually that turned into a way to name places that sold products as 'compassion centers'. The true provider was once a rogue part of society deemed a criminal for helping people with a plant that's been marginalized since prohibition.
By the start of 2017 no longer was I Mike Robinson, the compassion provider, instead a new name had come into play as Genevieve started verbalizing "Daddy" when she would see my photo. What started out to be one of the thousands of kids receiving oil ended up becoming a family created by love and the power of a plant.
Six years later we're a family that's thriving - there's so much more to the story to tell so we've made this website and I'm working on a book so the world can read about how Genevieve created a wave of love that has been seen around the Globe. Her story has inspired tens of millions and it continues to be more fascinating by the day.
Sydney's Story is quite a bit different than Genevieve's but also includes the word Autism. She's a very high-functioning, bright, and beautiful child that's growing into her teen years. In 2021, Sydney's life changed forever with a tragic loss that left her in need of a 'Bonus Dad'.
I didn't make up that term, she did, but I will share that it really warms my heart. Sydney Anne is like Genevieve in sharing the Autism Spectrum, but she's very high functioning and extremely verbal. We call Sydney the newscaster of the home, she'll let us all know what's going on!
The two of us have a very special bond. With the passing of her biological father in the summer of 2021, she had a void as well as emotions that needed to be recognized. Love is always the number one medicine in our home, but Cannabis extracts come in a close 2nd and for "Sydney Pie" they're making the difference between moods and milestones.
She's joined her sister in using CBGa and CBG, but Sydney will respond well to CBD and at night uses THC with CBN. She's a cannabinoid medicine champion just like her sister and overcomes the hurdles in life with Cannabis Love.
We love to go out on Sunset Trips as we call them, e-biking or on scooters we'll head out to the nearby Santa Barbara beach trails and go see the sights. There's always a smile with Sydney, but for almost a year it was gone, our home thrives and survives due because of the Cannabis Plant and all of the beautiful cannabinoids it brings us.
Genevieve's Dream is truly to have the carousel in life again, in 2017 it left Santa Barbara and with it took part of her joy in life. With Severe Autism and Epilepsy - she dreams of it nightly and watches videos of it during the day. To her it's still there - we visit where it used to be. I created a nonprofit to bring a carousel back to her hometown that didn't work out, so now we intend to create a 'Carousel Village' on a 'Dream Farm' that grows Cannabis Medicine.
"Compassion Is Love" -Dennis Peron
Cannabis Compassion is how the entire industry kickstarted back to life in 1996 (officially) when California which was the first state to enact prohibition, ended it with the Compassionate Use Act spearheaded by Peron along with several other legends of compassion. Decades and decades of activism paralleled with ongoing legal battles eventually paved the way for medicinal cannabis.
One day in February 2017 I bought proposed legislation called "Genevieve's Law" to Dennis Peron at the famed Castro Castle in San Francisco. Within a week later after meeting with the master of compassion for hours and penning a one-page document, the "Peron Resolution" was created. At the time Peron just had a stroke and was fighting for his life, which ended in January 2018, so the document's title was changed as "his last act of compassion."
His legacy carries forward as activists turned lobbyists created not one but two Bills that eventually made California's Compassion Act that went into effect in March 2020 known as The Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary Act. Mary Rathburn was a co-author and also a big-time legend in the history of cannabis legalization and compassion. May they both rest in peace as other people of compassion live out their legacies.
Cannabis, in all its varieties, and Love are two things that can heal the world.
